I have decided to add a new category to my posts to discuss our successes and failures of potty training. I’m not sure what I’m hoping for with this category… support maybe, shared empathy, shared successes, I’m not really sure. I guess I am just hoping that maybe others will join in and we can listen to each other and cheer or share frustration with each other. For some reason, I cannot seem to get my Linky Tool to work properly on my blog but I’ll work on that. In the meantime, if you want to join in, please feel free to comment and post a link to your blog so that we can read each other’s potty stories.

As you know, I’ve been doing a “Letter of the Week” with Paige. Each week, I find myself struggling to come up with words for Paige. It is as though my mind goes completely blank when I’m preparing projects.
I started a list, just a simple text file I saved on my computer and as I thought of words I would add it to my list. Last night, it dawned on me that maybe other people might be experiencing the same thing and might benefit from my list.
My original list was pathetic and I had only completed it a few letters ahead of where we are now. I sat down and worked into the night to provide a more complete list. If I’m going to make it available, I figured I better have decent list provide. I sat up last night and jotted down a long list of words and categorized them by letter. This list is far from complete and I struggled with certain letters but, if anything, maybe it will give someone some ideas.
The “Letter Ideas” page can be found in the left column, just click on it (or the link in this post) to view it.

I have disabled the requirement that people must be registered and all comments are moderated on my blog. I have had a number of friends say that they would like to comment on my blog but they don’t want to create an account and login to do it.
I locked it up because I was getting a LOT of spam and if I get a lot of spam again I might lock it up again or just set it to moderated comments only. I hope this helps.

If you have been following my blog for a while you will already know this but for anyone new, I change my blog theme often. Whether it is for a holiday, a season or I’m just bored. I changed it this time because the winter theme was depressing me. It felt too dark and gloomy. I had intended to leave it up for as long as there is snow here but I’ve since changed my mind. I like this theme, it works for Valentine’s. I also like how it shows the categories of my blogroll rather than just listing them alphabetically. I have no idea how long this theme will last but for now, I’m happy with it.

I just realized that this month marks the third anniversary of the creation of this blog. I started this blog a few months before we found out that we were pregnant with Paige. In January 2007, we were moving from our little apartment into a townhouse. Since then, we have moved again into a larger townhouse but in the same complex, we have had a baby, I have registered my first domain name, Paige has turned two, my husband has received more promotions than I can count, we’ve both had surgeries, I’ve been laid off, and much more.
I had other blogs before this one but I’ve been using this one the longest. Prior to this one, I was using LiveJournal which I really didn’t like and before that, I did my own blog and websites myself without the aid of a system like WordPress. I like WordPress because I can change my theme spontaneously based upon my mood or the season. I considered switching to another blog system but I find I really like WordPress, especially with its recent updates that have made blogging, installing new themes and upgrading the system much easier and I would hate to lose 3 years worth of posts.
Hurray for three years!
